Authentic T-shirt Company’s everyday fleece is just that: a comfortable, basic crew neck sweatshirt just perfect for customizing. We recommend this sweatshirt for both printing and embroidery as well as applique or tackle twill.
Did you know that printing on a 50/50 sweatshirt works best with solid blocks of colour? By this we don’t mean that you have to have big cube shapes of solid colours. No, what we mean is don’t expect to print a photographic style image, of say your uncle’s head, and expect a 50/50 sweatshirt to display that image with much integrity. First off, polyester fabrics need to be treated with a dye blocker to keep the colour of the sweatshirt from bleeding into the ink. After that we need to under-base any bright colours with white ink to make the colours pop. (think priming a wall when painting a room.) Then we print the coloured ink on top. So by the time we are finished, there is usually three layers of ink on the sweatshirt. It is really hard to hold super fine detail three layers high on a flexible fabric.
When printing sweatshirts like this ATC everyday fleece, stick to the KISS rule. Keep it simple…. Hmmm, I’m not sure I remember what that last S stands for
