ATC is a great standard brand. It’s goal is to provide you with a reasonable quality hoodie at a budget price. The fabric on this hoodie is heavy weight and the zipper is metal. The drawstring is a shoelace type and it is contrasting. Usually it is white.
Best Decorating Methods
Plastisol prints are the best option on this hoodie. If you print your custom design using screen printed plastisol, you will find the prints are bright and durable. Keep in mind that due to the polyester in this fabric, we need to print a dye blocker underneath your print which will make the print seem thicker. This is standard practice for printing hoodies, but if you want a super thin print, then you should either consider a hoodie with a higher cotton count, such as the King https://www.getbold.com/products/sweatshirts/unisex-zip-up-hooded-sweatshirt/king-full-zip-hooded-sweatshirt/ or try printing this sweatshirt with reduced plastisol. Reduced plastisol give a great retro feel to your print. It pushes into the fabric and is almost ‘no feel’ however it is not opaque or bright. If you print reduced white ink on a black hoodie, it will be grey. This is a great look if it is what you are going for.
Keep in mind that this hoodie has a pouch pocket and a zipper on the front. This drastically reduces the space for your custom print. Left chest, sleeve or back are the most common placements. Unfortunately we cannot print over the pocket or across the seams.
Embroidery is a popular option on this sweatshirt too. Your custom image can be placed in many locations with great success. We do suggest that you don’t get too big with embroidery on a sweatshirt. Due to the pulling of tight threads and the shrinking of your hoodie, after a few washes, large areas can get wavy. We can counteract this with heavy backing, but it does make your sweatshirt wear quit stiff, which can be uncomfortable. If you want to put a large area of stitching on a hoodie, we suggest you try a custom applique.
You can sew on your design with Tackle twill, or felt applique and combine it with embroidery. Quite often we sew on large areas of felt, and stitch on the details. It’s a great affect and customers love it. You don’t have to worry about shrinking or getting the wavy affect with applique. That is because not only is applique stitched to the sweatshirt, it is also glued, and the two become one. Shrinking together and hanging together. We can use a really light backing which we tear away after production. So the sweatshirt is really comfortable to wear.
