This ATC long sleeve t-shirt is very similar to the Gildan 5400 long sleeve. It is a mid-weight cotton long sleeve t-shirt with a very smooth feel that is perfect for screen printing. Elastic rib knit cuffs at the end of the arms keeps the sleeves from riding up and snug around your wrists. 100% cotton fabric wears well and lasts a very long time.

This long sleeve t-shirt comes in a wide array of colours, and is usually very well stocked. We highly recommend it as an excellent choice for all types of decorating.

Best Decorating Methods

Standard Plastisol Screen Printing works extremely well for this t-shirt. Plastisol ink will give you bright colours and

opaque whites and we can match Pantone colours exactly, if that is what you need.

Reduced plastisol is also quite successful on this long sleeve t-shirt.  This is where reduced ink is pushed into the fabric of the t-shirt for a muted look to your image. The colour of the shirt will affect the colour of the ink a little and you wont be able to feel the print with your hand. It is quite a nice look and is often referred to as vintage.

Discharge inks are an option with most colours of this shirt. Discharge is a bleaching and re-dying system of printing. A chemical is mixed into water base ink that removes the dye of the shirt returning it to the colour of cotton, while at the same time we apply a very thin layer of coloured ink. The advantage is that you can achieve fairly bright colours without any feel to the print. The image is a part of the fabric. There are some risks though and you should be aware of this before you choose this style of printing.  Some colours of shirts don’t discharge well,  royal blue and medium green tends to be the worst. Inks on those colours will be more dull . Also there can be some variance in the print run. Say for example the mediums are made from a different bolt of fabric than the smalls. If there is any difference in the way the two bolts of fabric were dyed, you will see a colour variance in the print. It is a chemical reaction, so if any of the variables change, so will the results.  Bear this in mind before you choose discharge inks. Great feel – but it comes with some risks.

Embroidery  works well this t-shirt. We suggest you keep your image small when stitching onto a t-shirt. Due to the light weight fabric of a t-shirt, and the likelihood that you will see some shrinkage, large areas of stitching will pucker and become wavy. Left chest embroidery is the our recommended option for this long sleeve shirt.

These shirts are super thin, almost see-through. I don't think they will last long or hold their shape.  Will level up on the quality next time. Printing looks good but overall disappointed.
