Why we love the American Apparel 1301.

The American Apparel 1301 is an all-around great shirt. Standard fit so anyone can wear it, breathable but sturdy cotton material, and budget friendly. With a tear away tag, this shirt is perfect for someone who wants to add their own labels and strengthen their brand presence. A custom printed label is not only more comfortable to wear, but also comes across as premium quality and well-made. Call us about getting some custom labels of your own today (some restrictions apply). The 10oz cotton used in the construction of these shirts is perfect for printing. Prints come out nice and smooth, and ink colours are vibrant and true to their original artwork. The American Apparel 1301 is comparable to some of our other 100% cotton t-shirts, like the Gildan 2000, ATC 1000, and M&O 4800, in weight, fit, and quality. It offers great bang for your buck, and we believe you’ll love both the low price and the great quality.

Best Decorating Methods

All  printing methods work will on this t-shirt.

Plastisol is the standard method of screen printing and is a great match for the Alstyle 1301. Bright colours and smooth inks can usually be attained on this t-shirt.

Reduced plastisol often called ‘vintage’  printing is a

great option for this t-shirt . Reduced ink is a very thin ink that penetrates into the fabric. It is not opaque and takes on the colour of the shirt a little.

Discharge ink works well on this shirt, but with some surprises – but with discharge  ink there is always some surprises. That’s part of the fun. We would however, suggest you avoid the heathered colours if you wish to print with discharge ink. The polyester in the heather fabric won’t react favorably to the discharge ink.

Embroidery works fine in small areas. We don’t recommend large areas of embroidery for t-shirts as they will become wavy after you wash the shirt. Stick to left chest areas and images smaller than 4 inches.

Applique is successful  if sewing on lightweight fabrics such as felt using a looser stitch. Felt is a good option as you can leave the edges not stitched without worrying of fraying. This allows for some shrinkage of the garment without puckering around the applied material.

Great Shirt!

We used these shirts instead of the Gildan 2000 as it had a colour we liked which Gildan didn't have.  This shirt has a nicer neck and is a bit longer in the body than the Gildan 2000. It is a standard cotton, thick t-shirt and our new go to brand. If a standard cotton shirt is what you are looking for, this one will make you happy.

sweetness!

I like the collar best on this t-shirt! It's thicker and doesn't stretch out.
